Alan Mishael
VP Governance
Alan I. Mishael is the recipient of the Outstanding Legal Advocacy Award (Nat'l Association of Counsel for Children), the Hugh S. Glickstein Child Advocate of the Year Award (Florida Bar's Public Interest Law Section), the Annual Pro Bono Award (Florida Bar's Appellate Practice Section), the Edward Smith Child Advocate of the Year Award (Lawyers for Children America), and the Angels in Adoption Award (Congressional Coalition on Adoption). In 2014, the Daily Business Review named Mr. Mishael along with his co-counsel Most Effective Lawyers for their success in the first appellate decision in Florida: In the Matter of Adoption of D.P.P., 158 So. 3d 633 (Fla. 5th DCA), rev. denied, 148 So. 3d 769 (Fla. 2014). Mr. Mishael has been instrumental in helping reform Florida's child welfare system, drafting Florida's first open adoption statute involving adult biological relatives, the law allowing judges to veto DCF's choice of adoptive placements, and in most situations, stopping DCF's removal of children from pre-adoptive homes over adoption selection disputes without first providing notice and hearing. He was also co-counsel in what led to the initiative moving developmentally disabled foster children off the DD Waitlist to facilitate permanency. Notable cases include: In the Matter of the Adoption of John Doe, 2008 WL 5070056 (Fla. 16th Jud. Cir.); R. N. v. APD, 944 So. 2d 301 (Fla. 2006); DCF v. J. C., 847 So. 2d 487 (Fla. 3d DCA 2002); Occean v. Kearney, 123 F. Supp. 2d 618 (S.D. Fla. 2000); and Jane Doe v. James Towey, Case No. 94-1696 (S.D. Fla. 1994).
Darius A. Brown

Emmy Award-winning producer and creator partnerships strategist with expertise in influencer management and relations across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. Darius brings a proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and managing talent and creator partnerships that align with brand objectives and drive measurable impact. With experience executing integrated campaigns across paid, earned, and social ecosystems, he builds strong relationships with talent, agencies, and cross-functional teams. A storyteller at heart, Darius is passionate about blending narrative with strategy to scale influencer programs and deliver culturally relevant, high-impact work. He brings his expertise from Harley & Co to help amplify Angels for Health's mission and reach. Darius holds a degree from Boston College.
Alexis Buchanan
VP Development
Alexis Buchanan is a senior development executive with a track record of raising millions of dollars for nonprofit and for-profit organizations. She leads fundraising strategy and infrastructure, institutional funding and administration, major donor cultivation, fundraising events, digital fundraising, and volunteer management. A Google News Initiative Fellow, Alexis is also the Co-Founder and Editor in Chief of Black Girls Do Politics — a multimedia nonprofit platform founded by Black women, for Black women, to amplify voices and increase representation in political spaces. The platform recognizes the political power Black women hold and works to empower future leaders at the forefront of change. Alexis holds a degree from Clark Atlanta University.
Dean Wilson, RN
Secretary
Dean Wilson is a compassionate, diligent, and dedicated healthcare professional and U.S. Air Force Veteran with more than 27 years of experience in healthcare and 23 years of honorable military service, including two deployments. During his Air Force career, he served 15 years as an Airborne Medical Specialist, gaining extensive experience in patient care, emergency medical response, leadership, and high-pressure medical environments. Dean began his civilian career as a Dialysis Technician with Fresenius Kidney Care, advancing to Dialysis Nurse and later Charge Nurse. In January 2023, he joined Main Line Health as a Registered Nurse and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). His background combines military discipline, clinical expertise, and a strong dedication to patient-centered care.
